Womens Rugby

A formal structure for Women's Rugby commenced in Australia in 1992.

In 1993, the ARFU joined the push for women to be involved in every aspect of the sport from administration to playing, officiating and coaching and then in 1996 the first true National Championship was held at Warringah's 'Rat Park' with a tough Queensland team defeating Canberra in a fiery final.

Warringah fields a team in the NSW Premier women’s competition which runs from April through to August. The team has won 3 of the last 4 competitions, winning their first premiership in season 2003 defeating traditional rivals West Harbour, with consecutive premierships in 2005 and 2006 the girls are looking to make it 3 in  row in season 2007.

The Club has provided 10 international players to the National team the Wallaroos, with 4 players selected to attend the last Women’s World Cup in Canada in 2006.

The team plays and trains at Pittwater Rugby Park which is located in Narrabeen just off Pittwater Road, training is generally on a Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm, with games on Saturday afternoon.

The girls welcome players of all abilities and nationalities
